UDHAMPUR: Panthers Party’s State President and ex-MLA Balwant Singh Mankotia strongly criticised the district administration Udhampur for its failure to provide Aadhaar cards which forced people to run from pillar to post to seek the same. “People of hilly areas are facing hardship for processing Aadhaar card which has become mandatory document in every field” he said.
Mankotia in a press statement said that whenever district administration organised an Aadhaar Card camp in a village, continuous power failure created hurdle forcing 50 per cent population of village without Aadhaar card as theycan’t upload their vital information.
Two camps are running at Tehsil Headquarter and another at Town Hall Udhampur for issue of Adhaar card. Long queues in these camps forced people to wait for hours and when their turn comes at times after a month the application is not process due to lack of valid documents, Mankotia regretted.
Mankotia said that Central and State Government has launched many schemes for people of the country and people can avail the benefit if they possess Aadhaar card. Unfortunately due non-availability of the same, thousands of people of Udhampur district are not getting benefit of oldage pension, widow pension, BPL, ration card and admission of children in schools. He warned the district administration that if issue of Adhaar card is not sorted out earliest, Panthers Party has no option but to come on roads for the genuine grievances of people.
