SRINAGAR: Former Min-ister, Abdul Gani Vakil, on Friday said that the upcoming visit of All Party Delegation wont bear any fruitful results until Cen-tral Government generates any hope for dialogue with Hurriyat leaders. He said unabated killings of innocent people have to be stopped as killing and dialogue cannot go together. Central Government has to impose a blanket ban on lethal weapons like pellet guns in Kashmir so that a congenial atmosphere is created for a constructive dialogue in the State, he said. Mainstream political parties would have discovered a role in the resolution of Kashmir but all the mainstream political forces particularly NC, PDP, Congress exploit the separatist sentiment just for furthering the purpose of power politics and people have also developed a hatred against them because of rampant corruption during their tenure, Vakil added.
Vakil stressed upon the Central Government to make dialogue result oriented.
Questioning the moral right of Congress to pitch for dialogue and resolution on Kashmir, Vakil asked the Congress leadership to clarify their position on putting the reports of interlocutors and working groups into dustbin.
He also asked BJP that what prompted the party to reject the autonomy resolution of the State Assembly when Atal Bihari Vajpayee was heading a BJP led Coalition Government and National Conference was part of it. He advised the Central Government not to re-experiment the old conventional methods of political deceit in Kashmir.
