In continuation to my earlier post titled above, it is again mentioned here that parking has been an unsolvable issue of the present days and wrong parking has become a routine matter. Despite providing different parking sites , people are forced to make wrong parkings.
Unless and until there is some suitable solution / policy for providing proper parking, this will continue.
To punish the offenders, a drive of lifting the wrong parked vehicles is already in practice by the Traffic Police of Jammu city. It is not bad to teach lessons to the offenders this way but lifting one vehicle from among the hundreds is not a justified thing. What about the remaining ninty nine! When hundreds are committing the same offence, why punishment to the selective one. Besides, on the spot Challans are also exclusively pasted on wrongly parked vehicles.
Carrying out this drive of lifting vehicles continuously over the years, I don’t think have brought any change in the system. This is nothing except to achieve a target of lifting vehicles per day or so and collecting revenue through this drive without any change on ground.
At the same time it is also pertinent to mention here that things can not be allowed to go at its own, some policy measures have to be adopted for smooth functioning of the system. It is as such my humble suggestion that if any policy / drive proves not useful and have zero results, it should not be continued anymore and necessary modifications need to be made or new policies be framed so that on ground results are observed.
