REASI: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Reasi of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-J) concluded five days long training on organic farming on Wednesday at Organic Training Centre, Talwara of Reasi District under Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhaya Unnat Krishi Shiksha Yojana to support organic farming initiatives in the region.
In this programme KVK, Reasi trained the fourth batch of the farmers on organic agriculture from the remote villages Thanpal, Thakrakot, Arnas etc. of the district who participated in the innovative programme.
The programme was conducted under the guidance of Vice Chancellor (VC), Dr.P.K Sharma and Associate Director Extension (ADE) and Incharge of all the KVKs, Dr.R.K Arora of SKUAST-J. The programme was sponsored by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi to promote the organic farming for the better life and safe environment.
Scientist and Head of Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Reasi, Dr. Banarsi Lal, Dr.Suja Nabi Qureshi, Scientist, Dr. Sanjay Kaushal, Scientist were the Resource Persons. Hans Raj, an awardee farmer from Talwara shared his experiences on organic vegetables growing with the other farmers. The programme was assisted by Manohar Lal and Md. Iqbal. The programme was concluded by Dr.Banarsi Lal, Scientist and Head of KVK, Reasi with the vote of thanks.
