STATE TIMES NEWS SAMBA: Department of Rural Development on Thursday organised a training programme for block level officers here on Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP). District Development Commissioner, Rohit Khajuria chaired the training programme and addressed the participants. The DDC emphasized upon maximizing the benefits from this training programme. He said from this financial year onward the planning process has been decentralized in and all the planning, management and execution shall be performed at Panchayat level. In the inaugural training session Assistant Commissioner (Development) Siddharath Dhiman, gave a brief description regarding highlights of the training programme. He said that 29 subjects, 11 schedules have been devolved to gram Sabhas including planning allocation of resources and execution part. He said people’s plan campaign is a basic constituent of the GPDP and the basic aspiration of people is to be reflected in GPDP. He laid emphasis on the block level officer for facilitation of their respective department plan through frontline workers during Gram Sabhas.
