STATE TIMES NEWS KATHUA: Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK), Kathua in collaboration with Dhurab Singh Memorial Youth Club, Jari, organised two days sports tournament at Play Ground of TCM School, Jarai, Block Nagri. The tournament was organized on theme ‘No Drugs – No Rash Driving’ to sensitize the youth and promote sports culture and involve more and more youth with sports activities in rural areas. A total of 16 teams participated in the volleyball, kabaddi and athletics completions. The tournament was inaugurated by Aradhana Andotra, Sarpanch Jarai. In kabaddi match, Kathua Club defeated R S Pura Club by a considerable victory margin by 45:18 points and lifted the trophy and cash prize of Rs 10,000 and Rs 7,000 to the runners up. In volleyball match, Youth Club Jalandhar defeated Youth Club Taloor by 3:2 sets and lift the trophy and cash prize of Rs 10,000 and the runners up Rs 7,000. DYC NYK Kathua in his address extended congratulation to Sudhakar Sing, President, Dhurab Singh Memorial Youth Club for successfully organizing the two-day tournament. Aradhana Andotra Sarpanch Jarai welcomed the young players and their performance will inspire our local youth to participate in sports activities on regular basis. He assured that these types of sports activities shall be organize in Jarai every year. Kewal Singh, Gain Singh, Shah Din, Yaseen, Mohammad Rafiq and Bhushan Kumar Panch were also present.
