UDHAMPUR: Expressing concern over the drug addiction menace, former MLA and NPP State President Balwant Singh Mankotia reiterated that party will not allow youth to become drug addict and Udhampur as Udta Punjab. He cautioned the youth of the district to remain vigilant as forces inimical are trying to destroy the future of youth.
Addressing a gathering at village Balli Nallah of Udhampur, Mankotia disclosed that a team has been constituted with few NGOs to make the youth aware about impact of drugs. He has also discussed the matter with SSP Udhampur and got support to deal with drug menace.
While extending condolences with the bereaved family members on the cremation of 18 yr old Anish who died due to drugs, Mankotia said this is second case in the city and an alarming situation for the parents, they have to inform police without any fear to deal with the drug peddlers.
He appealed to the parents of Udhampur District to remain vigilant about the drug menace and on finding their ward has become addicted, should provide support for de-addiction. He warned that NPP will not allow drug peddlers to strive that Udhampur becomes another Udta Punjab.
