Dear Editor, Chief Justice of India(CJI) Ranjan Gogoi has on Monday asked the Centre to restore normalcy in the state. Normalcy in Jammu and Kashmir has lost relevance ever since the Pakistan-sponsored terrorism started playing destructive role causing the loss of innocent lives and damage to public property. It is some satisfaction that in the past a large number of innocent lives were lost and negligible number of terrorists were killed. Now the situation has taken a different turn. A large number of terrorists who dare to cross the LoC are losing their life falling into the bullets of security forces and the civilians are not losing their lives in large number. After the abrogation of Article 370 and 35A, an impression is being sought to be created in the mind of people that Jammu and Kashmir is not a peaceful place. In fact Jammu and Kashmir has been limping back to normalcy. Total normalcy is a distant future as long as the cross-border terrorism continues. Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has been talking of war. War and peace cannot co-exist. But sometimes war is necessary to establish peace. If Imran Khan can think that war can bring peace to that country, he is living in fools’ paradise. War is likely to bring peace to India. The opportunity created by the outbreak of war between India and Pakistan may lead to the wresting of Pak Occupied Kashmir (PoK). War or no war. After rescinding the controversial Articles, India has been aiming at joining PoK to the Indian part of Kashmir. The world has been seeing that the present dispensation at the centre from 2014 is quite different. History is replete with the fact that earlier our brave Indian Army had captured Lahore. But the Indian government squandered away the opportunity by leaving it to Pakistan. Pakistan has no gratitude for it. It is harping on Kashmir. Pakistan is like cobra. Milk fed to cobra does not generate kindness in the reptile if it is touched. Milk also adds to its venom. Annexation of PoK is no difficult if all political parties stand united. But unity of all political parties even when the interest of nation demands has been outlandish culture to the opposition parties. The Modi government has to face many odds to wrest PoK. India has to wait for Pakistan to commit grave mistake to capture PoK. K.V. Seetharamaiah, Via-e-mail.
