JAMMU: Holding the Coalition Government responsible for the breakdown of the administrative machinery with the virtual collapse of law and order in the State, former minister and senior Congress leader, Raman Bhalla said that the prevalent situation in the Valley tantamount to constitutional failure.
Urging upon the Coalition Government to honour the election time promises made to the people of Jammu region, Bhalla said that the BJP’s political constituency had suffered the worst neglect and discrimination under the present regime. He regretted that the delivery on the promises during the last more than two years rule had been in opposite proportion to the expression of such high pitched slogans with not a single promise having been cashed in. He said that BJP had utterly failed to relieve the deep-rooted awareness in Jammu that it had sold its principles for power.
While interacting with people in continuance of his mass contact programme, Bhalla regretted the state government completly surrendered especially over the issues of PRC rights for West Pak refugees, delimitation of Assembly constituencies, reservation of five seats in Assembly for PoJK migrants and three seats for Kashmir migrants, abolition of Custodian Department and granting ownership rights to its occupants, 33 per cent reservation for women in Assembly, etc.
Accusing BJP-PDP Coalition Government in Jammu and Kashmir of having failed to address the problems of the people since they (BJP-PDP) joined hands, the miseries of the people of J&K have increased manifolds, Bhalla added.
