STATE TIMES NEWSJAMMU: Natraj Natya Kunj (NNK) Cultural Society Jammu, on Sunday performed Dogri adaptation of Mahakavi Basa’s Sanskrit play ‘Urubhangam’- The Shattered Thigh in 15th Winter National Theatre Festival at Chandigarh. The festival is organised by one of the leading theatre groups of Chandigarh, Theatre for Theatre. A month-long National festival is among biggest National events of Asia with participation of about 2,000 artists from all over India including many nationally and internationally artists. The festival, which commenced on January 29 and will end on February 27, will feature different aspects of performing arts including RU-BA-RU session, Directors’ Interaction session, Theatre Workshops, Kavi Sammelan, Mushiara, Folk Dances, Talent Show, Puppet exhibition, Photography exhibition, Live Painting, Music Concerts, Swang, Visual Art Exhibition, Nukkad Nataks and plays from across the country. Designed and directed by Abhishek Bharti and Aditya Bharti, NNK’s ‘Urubhangam’ came out as an almost flawless presentation. The cast included Akshay Razdan as Duryodhana-I, Amandeep Sharma as Duryodhana-2, Lalit Sharma as Bhim, Mukesh Bakshi as Ashvatthama, Kanav Sharma as Balram/Dushashan, Tejan Bharti as Lord Krishna/Abhimanyu, Aakash Sharma as Dhritrashtra, Karan Mehra as Shakuni, Niharika Sakshi as Gandhari, Hema Shivgotra as Durjay, Priya Sharma as Draupadi, Anshika Sharma as chorus. Music was given by Surinder Singh Manhas, lyrics by Karan Mehra, make-up by Niharika Sakshi, property by Arun Bral while lights & sound were looked after by Aaditya Bharti.
