SAMBA: Police on Tuesday foiled a bovine smuggling bid by rescuing nine bovines however smuggler managed to flee from the spot at Bail Nallah area of Ghagwal in District Samba. According to a report, during the intervening night, an information was received by SHO Gahgwal about bovine smuggling and swinging into the action SHO Ghagwal Rajeev Kuma along with team immediately laid Naka at Bai Nallah area of Ghagwal. During the checking, police party noticed a person carrying bovines by foot and moving towards Samba. On seeing the police, the unknown person fled from spot leaving the bovines. Police rescued nine bovines and registered a case vide FIR No 14/2018 under sections 188 RPC 2/3 PCA Act at Police station Ghagwal.
The whole operation was conducted under the overall supervision of SSP Samba Dr Koushal Sharma and direct supervision of DySP headquarter Samba Deepak Digra.
