NEW DELHI: Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) and MoS PMO, Dr Jitendra Singh said that ‘New India’ will represent youth aspirations and will essentially be the India of 21st century youth.
During an interaction with a group of students from MIT School of Government, Pune, Singh said, the credit goes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for linking most of the flagship programmes of his government with the ‘New India’ which is to emerge as a front-line nation of the world within next few years.
Whether it is ‘Start-up India’ or ‘Mudra Yojana’, he said, the Modi government has sought to explore innovative methods of generating livelihood and employability.
Referring to the results of recent Assembly elections in the three States of North Eastern region, Singh said, the revolutionary transformation in Northeast is a testimony to the Modi Government’s outreach to unite the youth from different parts of country with diverse backgrounds through a common cord of common aspiration. He said, it will take researchers a long time to understand how, under the influence of Prime Minister Modi’s aspirational drive, the people of the country, primarily the youth have successfully risen above the age-old constraints of caste, creed or religion and have instead come together with a common objective of building a ‘New India’.
When asked to respond to the Opposition’s allegation that Prime Minister Modi was advocating common election for Lok Sabha and State Assemblies because he allegedly wanted to sweep all these elections by using the magic of his name, Dr Jitendra Singh said, those who say so are not addressing the merits or demerits of a common election and are deviating from the subject, per-se, because they are motivated by a deep-rooted vested interest of self-preservation in today’s political scenario where no other political party has succeeded to throw up a leader who could match even a fraction of the tall stature enjoyed by Narendra Modi. Politics in the times to come, Dr Jitendra Singh said, will no longer be a part-time job and those who wish to enter public life should be prepared to devote themselves 24x7x365 with absolute commitment and dedication.
There is also going to be increasing transparency in public life with no room for hypocrisy, he added.
