STATE TIMES NEWSJAMMU: National Cricket Club (NCC) won Inter-Panchayat Block level Cricket Tournament organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports under Khelo India Programme at Parade Ground, here which concluded on Friday. Earlier, in the finals, played on Thursday, NCC defeated Road Safety XI Cricket Club by six runs in a close contest. Batting first after winning the toss, NCC was bundled out for 158 runs in 19.5 overs, which, in reply, Road Safety XI could not chase and was bowled out for 152 runs in 20 overs. For NCC, Vijay Dogra played a match winning inning of 49 runs off 22 balls and was declared Man of the Match. Rompy scalped three wickets for Road Safety XI Cricket Club. Majid was the top scorer for Road Safety XI Cricket Club with 54 runs, while Tanmay grabbed four wickets and Vijay Dogra took two for National Cricket Club. The match was officiated by the technical panel including Saleem-ur-Rehman, Sadiq Hussain, Radhir Singh, Vijay, Rahul and Ashok. In the closing ceremony, Ravi Singh, Divisional Sports Officer, J&K State Sports Council was the Chief Guest and Sukh Dev Sharma, district officer (DYSS) Jammu was the Guest of Honour who gave away trophy to winner and runner-up teams. The competition was organised under the patronage of Dr. Saleem-ur-Rehman, Director General, Youth Services & Sports J&K.
