JAMMU: National Conference Provincial President Devender Singh Rana on Saturday hit out at Pradesh Congress leaders for hobnobbing with Bharatya Janata Party (BJP) to disintegrate and trifurcate Jammu and Kashmir.
“A section of the Congress leaders have been working as B-Team of the BJP and furthering its agenda of division, hate and polarisation”, Rana said after paying glorious homage to Baba Saheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar on his birth anniversary at a function held at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhavan here this afternoon.
Rana said those working behind veils are more dangerous than perpetrators of a specific agenda and Congress leaders stand now fully exposed for pushing the State towards communal frenzy. They have all along been working against the unity of the State. It is a vicious circle of the BJP, the PDP and a section in the Congress which is responsible for the prevailing sordid state of affairs.
The National Conference, he said, will unveil these elements and fight their machinations by maintaining unity and tranquility, the real strength of the State and strong basis of the single entity of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh.
Referring to behind the scene political maneouvering over generating fear psychosis and creating wedge between the communities in the wake of brutal rape and murder of an eight year old girl in Rasana Kathua, Rana hailed the maturity and political sagacity with which the people across the spectrum foiled these dangerous attempts.
“Those standing for rapists could be anything-chauvinists or opportunists-but not Hindus, who worship girls up to the age of 12 as Kanjikas during holy Navratras”, the Provincial President said lauded the societal response in isolating the fringe.
He assailed the BJP for imposing itself as Messiahs of Hindus and said this is disservice to great Hinduism, which believes in Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (the whole world being one single family).
Paying tributes to Bharat Ratna Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar, the Provincial President described him as a visionary statesman, who not only authored the Constitution but also worked tirelessly to foster egalitarian society and shed caste discrimination in the country.
Speaking on the occasion, senior National Conference leader and Chairman SC/OBC Cell Babu Ram Paul highlighted the glorious contribution of Dr Ambedkar in heralding a new dawn for people of India in general and weaker and down trodden segments of society in particular. The former minister sought an empowered commission for political empowerment and socio-economic emancipation of Scheduled Castes and other weaker sections, who have all along been exploited.
On the occasion several prominent persons joined the NC, including Bharat Bhushan, Journalist, Dr Gaurav Bharat, Arjun Teyagi, Dr Ajeet Rai Bajala, Sat Pal Bhagat, Mohinder Chandal, retired Principal, Sat Pal and Tara Chand.
