STATE TIMES NEWSKATHUA: Junior wing of Nav Adarsh Hr. Sec. School, Kathua had a special event to educate children about the significance of Rakshabandhan festival. In this event children were familiarized with the customs and rituals followed on Rakshabandhan. Children were told about the sacred bond between a brother and sister and how rakhi symbolizes the sister’s love and prayers for her brother’s well-being and the brother’s life long vow to protect her. “Festivals are an integral part of Indian culture and we want to teach children the importance of our traditions and the value of religious tolerance by celebrating them in school”, said Lalita Katal, Chairperson of Nav Adarsh. Neelam and Sujata assisted the students during the event.
