SAMBA: On account of National Post Day, MV International School on Wednesday organised a visit to Head Post Office Gandhi Nagar, Jammu for Juniors of Class 3rd to 5th.
Students purchased envelopes and stamps from the post office and posted letters to their parents and friends.
Earlier the students and teachers were welcomed by the Post Master.
They were taken around to see how letters are collected, segregated, stamped and then stored in pigeon holes for the postmen to collect and distribute them further to the addresses.
Students and staff of the school expressed gratitude towards the Indian Postal Department which is serving the nation with admirable zeal and enthusiasm. Although we are living in the age of emails, mobile phones and faxes but we must not forget that it is the postal service that has remained the largest mode of communication in India. With the arrival of new age technologies and new modes of communication, the usage of traditional mailing services has reduced but it is still the primary and most reliable.
