JAMMU: National Cricket Club (NCC) and Jammu Cricket Club (JCC) trounced their rivals in the ongoing State Cricket Academy (SCA) T20 Championship being organised by Jammu and Kashmir State Sports Council at MA Stadium, here on Wednesday.
Earlier, in the first match, NCC defeated Khalsa Club by 27 runs.
Batting first, NCC scored 139 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 18 overs. Adityapartap Singh was the top scorer with 52 runs followed by Manish and Ankush, who added 33 and 14 runs respectively to the total. For Khalsa Club, Manu grabbed five wickets while Harinder and Naresh shared apiece each. Khalsa Club, in reply, could not achieve the target and made 112 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 18 overs. Robin with 26, Abhishek 22 and Harinder with 14 runs were the main scorers. From NCC, Sahil claimed three wickets while Vijay, Ankush and Ritik shared two each. For his match winning inning, Adityapartap Singh was adjudged Man of the Match and was awarded with a cash prize of Rs. 500.
In another match, JCC outplayed Samba Club by ten wickets.
Batting first, Samba scored 87 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 16 overs. Shubam made 23, Arun 13 and Vishal scored 11 runs. For JCC, Gurupartap took two wickets while Rohit, Vishwajeet, Yudhveer and Deepak shared one each.
In reply, JCC comfortably chased the target in 14.2 overs without losing any wicket. Openers Surya and Vivrant with 47 and 36 runs helped the team to win.
Surya was declared Man of the Match and was given a cash prize of Rs. 500.
Today’s matches were officiated by Saleem-ur-Rehman, Amit Gupta, Sadiq Hussain, Madan Mohan, Sandeep and Vinod. R.P Singh conducted the proceedings of the post match functions.
In today’s matches, SSP Security Ashok Sharma was the Chief Guest whereas SP Security K.S Jasrotia, former Ranji player Rakesh Chopra and Director KC Sports Arjun Choudhary were the Guests of Honour. They were introduced with the teams and gave away man of the match awards.
The Chief Guest appreciated the State Cricket Academy for conducting cricket extravaganza throughout the State for budding cricketers. He also wished the players for their best performance in the championship.
