STATE TIMES NEWS DODA: As part National Deworming campaign, the District Health Society Doda under the guidance of Chief Medical Officer Doda Dr Mushtaq Ahmed Shah organised a series of programme at AIER Public School Dod, Royal Academy Islamia High School Ghat (Doda), Educational Institutions and Anganwadi Centres of the District on Wednesday. The main function was held at AIER School Doda under the chairmanship of Dy CMO Doda Dr Rakesh Bhagat. Speaking on the occasion, Dy CMO Doda Dr Bhagat said that deworming is done to cure the infected children and also put an end to multiple other causes like anaemia, mental impairment, malnourishment etc which stimulates worm infections, adding that these conditions are serious threat to the kids and can be ruinous for the education and health of the kids. Similar kind of programme was also held at Royal Academy Islamia High School Ghat under the chairmanship of BMO Ghat Dr Mohammad Fareed Bhat. Speaking on the occasion, BMO Ghat Dr Mohammad Fareed Bhat said that the National Deworming Day is to be observed with an objective to free children from worm infections and to deworm them from 1-19 years at Schools and Anganwadi Centres. On this occasion, students were given the tablets of Albendazole whereas the left out chidren if any will be covered during the mop up round scheduled for 26th of March 2019. The programme was attended by doctors, paramedical staff of Health Department besides the Staff and Students of AIER Public School Doda and Royal Academy Islamia High School Ghat. Those who were present on this occasion includes Director AIER Public School Doda Vinod Raina, Principal AIER Surinder Katoch, Principal Royal Academy Ghat Mohammad Suhaib Balwan, Medical Officer Leprosy Dr Abid, Dr Amjad Iqbal, Dr Sheikh Shakir, Health Educator Mohd Shafi Attu, Distt Accounts Manager NHM Ashima Rana, BMEO NHM Ghat Mashhood Latif, Surinder Singh Bijyal, Faizan A Tramboo, Ashok Shan, Raju Kumar, Tasir Ul Islam and others. Meanwhile, similar kind of awareness programme were held and observed across all medical blocks including Ghat, Assar, Thathri, Gandoh and Bhaderwah in Doda District.
