STATE TIMES NEWS DODA: Over 50 passengers travelling in two buses had a great escape when a the buses they were travelling in came under shooting stone at Assar and Raggi Nallah respectively on Batote-Kishtwar National Highway (NH244) on Thursday afternoon in District Doda. According to reports, two passengers and driver of a bus (JK-02AH 7187) escaped with minor injuries after the bus was hit by shooting stones near Assar, 35 km from Doda. In a similar incident 7km away from Assar at Raggi Nallah another bus was hit by shooting stones, but luckily all the passengers and driver remain safe in the horrific scene, however wind screen and a portion of bus got damaged. “Defying a possible threat to life, all the passengers managed to escape from both the buses, which despite heavy snowfall and traffic restrictions were on way from Jammu to Bhadarwah and Kishtwar simultaneously,” said Zuhaib Hassan, DySP Traffic Doda-Kishtwar. “From our side, we did not allow any vehicle to move towards Jammu or elsewhere from 8am this morning and to strictly implement the traffic restriction in view of heavy snowfall and slippery road conditions, we have installed nakas at Drabshalla, Thathri and Khellani,” DySP added saying that all the link roads have also been closed for any kind of traffic till further orders.
