State Times News REASI: Saraf Singh Nag Constituency Leader, Reasi has supported Monday Bandh and protest call in support of Degree College for Moungri Tehsil and adjoining areas which had been dropped from the list of 42 newly sanctioned Degree Colleges by the Governor Administration. Termed the decision of ignoring Mongri as unfortunate , Nag said that Moungri Tehsil is one of the backward and far off place of Udhampur district and have 4 higher secondary schools which fulfilled the underlaid criteria fixed by the Government in sanctioning of 42 Colleges in the uncovered areas of the State. Dropping this name from the list is sheer mockery with poor people of this area .The students of the area have to go over 100 Kms distance at Udhampur for College or even more far at Reasi .The poor people can’t afford to send their wards at such a far distance due to financial adversaries and hence students drop out and get deprived from Higher Education especially girl Students. The scheme for opening new Colleges was especially meant for such areas which were henceforth uncovered and left over by successive Governments although fit and deserving case otherwise.
