JAMMU: In furtherance of the online initiative of the Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) to promote the concept of Digital India, RTO Jammu Deep Raj handed over a total of 181 driving licenses to the Postal Department for their home delivery.
The department has already signed MoU with Postal Department for home delivery of licenses and the service was started formally by handing over the driving licenses to provide the facilities to the public at their door step so that they do not face inconvenience of coming to RTO office to collect their driving licenses. Besides facilitating the service seeker it will also eliminate the exploitation of the innocent applicants at the hands of unscrupulous persons. The service has been started as pilot project in Jammu and Srinagar Districts by the government which will be replicated in other districts soon and may cover other services being provided by the department.
The department advised the applicants to fill their address particulars correctly along with pin code so that no inconvenience is faced to deliver the driving licenses to them.
