SRINAGAR: Police on Saturday solved a murder case and
arrested two persons.
As per the details, on January 24, 2020
at about 9:00 PM, Baramulla Police
received an information that one person namely Syed Mohammad, aged about 23 years, resident of Uroosa has
been brought to Sub District Hospital Uri from Reshwari Bijhama in unconscious
state and doctors have declared him as brought dead. Accordingly proceedings under
Section 174 CrPC were initiated in Police Station Bijhama.
Preliminary medical report suggested
that the person had died due to poisoning. Proceedings in the case revealed
that the victim was in a relationship with a girl from Jabadar area of Bijhama,
but their families disapproved the relationship.
January 24, 2020, the victim Syed Mohammad approached the family members of the
girl in order to have a conversation and make efforts to persuade them and seek
their approval for the relationship. At the girl’s house in Jabadar area victim
Syed Mohammad was served with a cup of tea spiked with poisonous substance”,
the investigation revealed.

identify two individuals Shahida Bano and Hilal Malik both residents of Jabadar
who were involved in the commission of crime. They happened to be real siblings
of the girl with whom the victim was in relationship.
has recovered the cup in which the contaminated tea was served and the
remaining poisonous substance as part of evidence. Case FIR No. 02/2020 under Section
302 IPC has been registered in the matter at Police Station Bijhama. Both the accused persons have been
arrested. Further investigation in the matter is in progress.
