JAMMU: To pay homage to Shehzada Qasim (AS) one of the martyrs of Karbala, a procession was taken out from the residence of late Syed Mazhar Ali Shah on the seventh day of Muharram under the banner of Anjuman-e-Imamia Jammu.
A Majlis was organised before the procession which was addressed by Moulana Syed Ghazanfar Ali Rizvi, Professor Jamiatul Muntzar Nogawan Sadat.
In his address, Maulana stressed upon the teachings of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and also highlighted the great sacrifice of Shehzada Qasim (AS) for the sake of truth. He further added Karbala taught us how to be victorious while you are oppressed.
During the procession mourners were reciting Nohas and Marsiahs to pay tribute to Shehzada Qasim (AS).
At Imam Bargah New Plot, the Namaz-e-Magribain was offered and a Majlis was also organised by Anjuman-e-Haidery, New Plot which was addressed by Maulana Syed Hussain Bakairi from Nowgama Sadat UP.
Maulana in his address said that we should follow the path of Imam Hussain (AS).
President Anjuman-e-Imamia Syed Amanat Ali Shah while addressing the media said that Karbala is a thought that cannot be deceived. He added that every scholar and historian mentioned this sacrifice of Imam Hussain (AS) and his 72 companions as one of the greatest sacrifice of the centuries. He further added that Imam Hussain (AS) taught us how to stand up and resist cruelty and oppression.
Ali Abuzar, President Anjuman-e-Haidery new plot said that Karbala is not mere a battle it’s a fight against the tyranny, cruelty and oppression of Yazeed and we learned from Karbala that we should stand with oppressed.
After that the procession passed through the traditional route New Plot, Amphalla Road, Ustad Mohalla, Panjtirthi, Jain Bazaar, Khatikan Talab and culminated at Imam Bargah Sofi Shah Peer Mitha.
Prof. Sujat Khan said that we are highly thankful to the people from different regions like Rajouri, Poonch, Surankote, Chanderkot, Gursai, Kashmir, Kargil and Ladakh and organisations like Anjuman-e-Haidery New Plots, Anjurnan-e-Hussaini Bathindi, ALMSAJ, AKSAJ and Shaheed Mutahri Library New Plots, MEWSL and people of different faiths who participated in the procession to pay tribute to Imam Hussain (AS) and all the martyrs of Karbala.
