STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: Procession of 10th Muharram Ashura was taken out from Ziyarat Peer Mitha under the banner of Anjuman-e-Imamia, Jammu. A Shabihey Zuljinah and a procession of Ashura were taken out where thousands of mourners across the region participated to pay homage to the martyrdom of Imam Hussain, grandson of Prophet Hazrat Mohammad. A brief Majlis was delivered by Molana Syed Jalal Haider Naqvi Secretary Ulema-e-Hind New Delhi. In his address, he stressed upon the teachings of Imam Hussain. After passing through the traditional route the procession culminated at Karbala Complex Wazarat Road where Majlis Sham-e-Ghariban was delivered by Molana Syed Jalal Haider Naqvi. A procession was taken out from New Plots by Anjuman-e-Haidery New Plot and merged with the main procession at Imam Bargah Sofi Shah Peer Mitha. Ashura, the 10th day of Muharram, was the day when Imam Hussain and his 72 companions laid their lives and saved humanity and the values of Islam, battling against the tyranny of Yazid, the ruler and Caliph of Muslim Ummah at that time. Addressing media Vice President of Anjumam-e-Imamia, Jammu Syed Afaq Husain Kazmi said that it is our duty to spread the message of pure Islam that has been gifted upon us by our beloved Prophet Hazart Mohammad. He added Ashore gives a message to entire humanity that we should stand firm against the oppressor and never forego our responsibilities even though we need to sacrifice our self for the cause.
Prof Sujat Khan, Secretary Anjuman-e-Imamia, Jammu, said that Karbala was not a political battle and not even a battle between individuals but it’s a battle of ideologies, if it was a battle for political cause then Imam Husain would have never brought his family along with him. Imam Hussain want to rise the stature of this sacrifice to such a level that people forced to think about this supreme sacrifice and follow the values of Islam he said.
He further added that Rebar-e-Miasma Syed Ali Khomeini quoted, “What has led to the grandeur of Imam Hussain and his companions is that the great number of enemies did not stop them from fighting against injustice”. The battle of Karbala is the only battle in the history on which the blood got success over sword.
Anjuman-e-Imamia expressed gratitude to Ahle Sunnat and various non-Muslim organizations for extending their full cooperation and support during the procession by installing different stalls as refreshment for the mourners. Anjuman-e-Imamia further expressed gratitude to Anjuman-e-Haidery, Anjumn-e-Hussaini, Kargil Colony Bathindi, All Ladakh Muslim Students Association Jammu (ALMSAJ), volunteers of Shaheed Muttahiri Library New Plots, administration of MESWL and people from Poonch, Rajouri, Gursai, Surankote, Mandi, Chanderkot and Kashmir for showing exemplary discipline during the procession.
