JAMMU: Police on Monday claimed to have solved four cases of motor vehicle theft by arresting a person and recovering of three motorcycles.
Reports said that, a police team led by SI Balram Sharma, ln-charge Police Post Nehru Market, at Bikram Chowk naka caught a bike rider who seeing the police team tried to escape after some chase.
During the questioning, the man identified as Kuldeep Kumar alias Sodhi son of Om Parkash resident of New Plot, Jammu failed to produce the vehicle’s document. Suspecting to be stolen bike police put the man under detailed questioning where he revealed that the motor cycle is stolen from Gandhi Nagar area and on his further questioning two more stolen motor cycles were recovered from his possession.
SI Balram Sharma said that Sodhi was involved in four thefts and three motorcycles have been taken into custody by the police and remaining one was earlier released by police. He asserted that a total of four cases of theft have been worked out.
The arrest was made by SI Balram Sharma ln-charge Police Post Nehru Market, Inspector Bishnesh Kumar SHO Police Station Gandhi Nagar under the close supervision of Sachin Gupta SDPO City South Jammu, Shahzad Ahmed Salaria, SP City South, Jammu and Uttam Chand, SSP Jammu.
