LEH: On the concluding day of the centenary celebrations of 19th Kushok Bakula Rinpoche, Ambassador of Mongolia to India, Gonchig Ganboldon visited Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre (MIMC) Leh and had an interaction with Founder-President MIMC Bhikkhu Sanghasena.
Besides Mongolian Ambassador, several other guests from Sikkim, Assam, Uttarakhand, Arunachal, and the Deputy Khambo Lama from Russia also visited Mahabodhi campus to see the humanitarian projects being carried out there.
The guests had come to Ladakh to attend the grand valedictory of the centenary celebrations of 19th Kushok Bakula Rinpoche that took place in presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday morning at Jivetsal in Leh.
“Appreciating Bhikkhu Sanghasena for his selfless service to the humanity, Ambassador Gonchig Ganboldon said that Sanghasena has turned the place, MIMC, into a Shambala for the welfare of others.
“It is not easy to sacrifice one’s life for the services of others but Sanghasena has done it and his humanitarian services are not confined to Ladakh alone,” Ganboldon added.
Talking about the extraordinary relation between India and Mongolia, Bhikkhu Sanghasena said late Kushok Bakula Rinpoche strengthened the relationship even further by being Ambassador of India to Mongolia and by establishing a Buddhist monastery in the country. “He has cemented the relationship further,” Sanghasena added, saying that it is for us to carry forward the relationship of two countries further into the future.
Mahabodhi students presented a colourful cultural performance before the visiting Ambassador and other guests. Among others present on the occasion include former CEC, LAHDC, Leh Rigzin Spalbar, former private secretary to late Bakula Rinpoche, Sonam Wangchuk Shakspo and President DCC Leh and former MLA, Tsering Samphel.
