STATE TIMES NEWS Poonch: Under ‘Fit India Movement’ a cycle rally was organized by Education department in Village Jhullas on the line of control here in Poonch today. Azrar Hussain Shah, District Education and Planning Officer (DEPO) Poonch flagged off the Rally from Jhullas Play Ground which after passing through various roads culminated at Higher Secondary School Jhullas. Over 170 cyclists from different schools of Poonch district took part in the Rally. The rally was organized to educate the students about benefits of good health. Speaking on the culmination function, Azrar Hussain Shah, DEPO Poonch, who was also the chief guest on the occasion, highlighted the importance of good health for healthy mind. He also stressed on the need to adopt all the activities mentioned under Fit India Movement. Darshan Bharti, Nodal Officer “Fit India Movement” in his address said that the Fit India Movement was a brain Child of Narinder Modi, Prime Minister of India who launched the scheme on 29th of August 2019. He emphasized that Yoga, Meditation, free hands exercise, debates, lectures on mental stress management, Walkathon, Fitness Quiz and competitions in traditional games and sports must be organized in all the schools for the implementation of the scheme. He asked the School heads to organize all the events as per the schedule given by the higher authorities time to time. He also highlighted the importance of 5 star and 3 star rating Schools in the Fit India Movement. Sudarshan Sharma, Principal HSS Poonch who is also holding the additional charge of HSS Jhullas also spoke on the occasion and educated the children about benefits of good health and healthy mind. Javed Ahmed, Assistant Director Planning ,Ravinder Singh,Tariq Mehmood and Rajinder Singh Tofaan also spoke on the occasion.
