R S PURA: Police failure to assess the conspiracy of some miscreants lead to burning of a liquor shop by a mob of protestors at Badyal Brahmana, here on Sunday. Had the police judged the situation in a professional manner with no bias and remained watchful, the incident could have been averted.
“A wine shop (M/S Gurvinder Wine Shop) was torched in Badyal Brahmana village of R S Pura, on the outskirts of Jammu city, this morning, a police official said, adding that villagers had been demanding over the past couple of days that the shop should be shifted. The official said that an FIR was registered in this connection.
Meanwhile, a load carrier transporting buffaloes was set on fire in Bishnah area of Jammu District late last night, he said.
The driver deserted the vehicle and fled from the scene after seeing a mob signalling him to stop the vehicle, the official said. The people later freed the buffaloes and set the vehicle on fire.
