KISHTWAR: Describing the welfare measures initiated by Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti as revolutionary, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) MLC Firdous Ahmed Tak on Saturday said it would yield long-term results and help J&K to progress on the path of peace and prosperity.
The PDP leader said the Budget 2018-19, presented by Finance Minister Haseeb A. Drabu, was another landmark example of the PDP-BJP coalition government’s commitment towards people-friendly policies.
“The revolutionary and bold measures taken by the Chief Minister will yield long-term results and will take Jammu and Kashmir on the path of peace, progress and economic growth. The grant of amnesty to 9,000 youth involved in various cases is a major initiate towards social integration and saving their future,” Tak said while addressing series of public meetings in Nagsena block of Kishtwar district.
He was accompanied by party workers comprising Ishtiyaq Hussain Waza, Arshid Hussain Giri, Haji Mohd Iqbal, Mohd Saleem Sheikh, Wasil Doolwal, Sajad Najar, Tariq Hussain, Mohd Imran, Gulab Chand, Raj Kumar, Krishan Lal, Sajad Ahmed and others.
“The PDP has also batted for peaceful resolution of outstanding disputes and vexed issues through dialogue. The appointment of Dineshwar Sharma, with the rank of Cabinet Secretary, as interlocutor last year, on the initiative of Chief Minister, was a major decision to undertake sustained dialogue in the State. It will help the people from different shades of opinion to join the consultation process to bring the state out of present uncertainties and bloodshed,” the PDP leader said.
He welcomed the state government’s announcement of regularizing the services of about 60,000 daily wagers and termed as it as “largest public welfare step taken by any Government in recent times”.
During his visit, the MLC asked the party workers to gear up for upcoming Panchayat elections and create awareness among masses about the major achievements of the PDP-BJP government.
