STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: Urging people not to throw household garbage, filth etc on main roads and in drains, Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Chander Mohan Gupta on Friday stressed for use of separate dustbins provided under Swacch Bharat Abhiyan for disposal of wastes. He was on a visit to Bhour Camp and its adjoining areas falling under ward no 73 to take stock of grievances being faced by residents of these areas. During the tour, people put forth their demands which included installation of street lights, construction of boundary wall and crate around cremation ground, additional deployment of Safaikaramcharis and other field staff, as most of the lanes and drains of the area are not properly constructed and require immediate construction/ renovation. The Mayor assured that all the genuine issues would be resolved at the earliest. He further informed that JMC is taking several steps to ensure major boom in infrastructure level, that too on priority basis wherever there is dire requirement of the same. At many places, works of sewerage system and laying of water pipes are already over, he added. The Mayor further informed that a proper plan has been chalked out and concerned have already been directed to prepare estimates and start work on war-footing, so that people do not face any inconvenience in future. He appealed to the shopkeepers to keep their belongings inside the shops and not encroach the footpath, causing hindrance in the smooth movement of commuters. Among others present on the occasion included Pitamber Sharma, Ashok Kumar, Gardhari Lal, Inder Khajuria, Subash, Subedar Om Parkash, Master Babu Ram, Shanker Sharma, Sudhir Sharma, Sanjeev Sharma and Vicky Sharma.
