State Times News BILLAWAR: Former Minister and President DCC Kathua Dr Manohar Lal Sharma took part in various social and religious function at Dungara, Chingi Makwal, Tilla, Deol, Bhed, Tikri villages of Billawar constituency and interacted with general masses. During the interaction he thanked people of Billawar constituency for voting in huge number in parliamentary election for Udhampur assembly. During the interaction a delegation of cocoon growers farmers of Dungara, tillla area met Dr Sharma and apprised him about the losses they have faced due to their damaged crop. Dr Shamra requested the Governor and administration to provide adequate compensation to said farmers of the area on the lines of compensation paid to apple growers of Valley for damaged crops. He said cocoon crop is another source of livelihood of the people of the area and almost majority families are indulged in this farming. He said many families in during, Dungara are forced to live a miserable lives as their crops has been damaged. He also requested the concerned department to find the root cause of such damages in order to prevent such losses in near future. Sham Sapolia, Capt. Tara Chand, Balbir Singh and Dimple Verma were also present.
