UDHAMPUR: Expressing deep concern over non availability of power and water, former MLA and NPP State President Balwant Singh Mankotia alongwith workers gherao PDD/PHE offices and lodged protest for shortage of electricity and drinking water in Udhampur. He blamed that Govt has totally failed to provide basic amenities like electricity and water in hot summer season.
Leading the Matka Fod Rally at Udhampur, Mankotia along with party workers carried out a protest rally which started from Salathia Chowk and passed through different bazars and Gheraoed the PDD/PHE office for acute shortage of water and electricity in Udhampur.
While addressing the party workers and aggrieved people, Mankotia said people of Udhampur are facing shortage of water and electricity and this problem has turned horrible. People are making hue and cry for acute shortage of water, electricity and unfortunately Govt and elected representatives of Udhampur failed to address the basic problem of general masses, regretted Mankotia.
People are facing problem of electricity and water for the past six months and there is not time schedule of power curtailment and power supplied to consumers are with low voltage, charged Mankotia. When aggrieved people approached the concerned authorities for readdressal of their grievance, officers turned down their request by making excuses that Deptt has no funds.
He blamed that elected representatives in connivance with officers bungled crore of rupees by presenting fraud bills and needed detailed inquiry in the whole bungling.
Dhani Ram Attri, Amarnath Mehra, Tirenter Singh, Jagdev Jagga, Pawan Dev Singh, Rampal Bhagat, Sanjeet Sharma, Shiv Dev Singh, Mohammed Rafeeq, Sunil Gudda, Pushvinder Singh, Ashok Malkan and Mohammed Mirza were also present on the occasion.
