Dear Editor, Over 80 per cent of the annual run-off of the rivers occurs in the monsoon months of June to September, often causing floods. Today, the situation has become more intricate. Where the country was troubled by water crises a month ago, now half of India is grappling with flood. There is urgent need to bring stability in this war of abundance and scarcity. The government should concentrate on water resources in order to transfer surplus water from a pond in one area to a drier water body in another region. Indu Choudhary, Via-e-mail.
