STATE TIMES NEWS RAMNAGAR: Flaying BJP for deceiving Jammu people despite receiving massive mandate during 2014 Assembly elections, JKNPP Chairman and former Minister, Harsh Dev Singh on Saturday said that ‘BJP Mukt’ Jammu alone is the solution to all woes of Jammu region. While addressing public meetings in Kathil Ganju, Sunetar and Beri villages of Ramnagar Constituency, Harsh said, “Despite sweeping Assembly polls in the Dogra heartland of Jammu region with a massive mandate during 2014 elections, the BJP had caused greatest embitterment in hearts and minds of people of Jammu during its three and half years rule. Not only the hopes and aspirations of people were trampled upon ruthlessly by BJP leaders after their ascendance to power, but the very self respect and pride of Dogras was bartered away for petty personal gains and lust of power.” Having failed to fulfill even a single promise made by them to Jammu electorates in their vision document, the mandated BJP leaders worked as ‘puppets’ of Mehbooba Mufti and promoted Kashmir-centric agenda in utter disregard for sentiments of Dogras, Singh said. Flaying BJP for bartering away its age-old political philosophy for power sake, Singh said that in doing so, it not only compromised with the remnants of its own dignity but with the honour and pride of people as well. “Issue of Articles 370 and 35A, which formed the ideological DNA of BJP, were pushed into the oblivion despite they being sold in elections with a big splash. The slogans on grant of PRCs to west-Pak refuges and to children of daughters of J&K married outside the State also met the same fate. The policy of appeasement of separatists and anti-nationals was relentlessly pursued with release of around 11,000 stone-pelters together with a new scheme for rehabilitation of surrendered militants. The saffron rule witnessed registration of FIRs against brave-hearts and valiant Jawans, disregard for martyrs and coverage of deceased stone-pelters under SRO-43. It was the saffron flavoured Govt, which cautioned Army to exercise restraint and not to retaliate despite being assaulted, attacked, slapped, manhandled, humiliated, taunted and jeered. Its jingoistic slogans of zero tolerance against militancy and anti-nationals evaporated into thin air after climbing the ladder of power,” rued Singh. Accusing BJP of having inflicted multiple dents upon Dogra pride, Singh said that people of Jammu will have to unite and make herculean efforts to straighten the same. Calling upon the people to join hands irrespective of caste, creed and colour to overthrow the BJP juggernaut, Singh said that ‘BJP Mukt’ Jammu alone was the solution to the woes of Jammu region.
