STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: To commemorate 550th birth anniversary of Shri Guru Nanak Dev, a Mahaan Gurmat Samagam is being organised by Guru Nanak Seva Charitable Trust and Guru Nanak International Kirtan Council under the patronage of Mahant Manjit Singh of Dera Nangali Sahib Poonch, with support of District Gurudwara Prabandak Committee (DGPC) at Gurdwara Shri Guru Nanak Dev Chand Nagar Jammu on May 25. Briefing media persons here on Wednesday, Tarlochan Singh Wazir, Chairman, State Gurdwara Parbandhak Board informed that various prominent and intellectual Sikh personalities including Pracharaks and Kirtan Jathas will participate in the Samagam and Shabad Kirtan will be recited highlighting teachings of Guru Nanak Dev. The Samagam will start at 9:00 AM on May 25 and will end at 1:00 AM in midnight on May 26, he informed. “The final results of Kaun Banega Gurusikh Pyara contest will also be announced on the occasion. We appeal to the Sikh Sangat of Jammu and Kashmir to participate in a big way in celebrations,” he said. “About 53 toppers among 70,000 participants from across the country will be the special attraction in the Samagam. Topper of each group will get car as reward while second and third position holders will get cash prizes,” he said.
