STATE TIMES NEWSJAMMU: All J&K Low Paid Employees Federation (LPEF) urged the government for revision of medical allowance in J&K at par with other Union Territories. In a statement issued here on Thursday, Abdul Majid Khan, President of the Federation hailed restoration of Leave Travel Concession for employees. He, however, laid emphasis on revision of Medical Allowance from Rs 300 to at least Rs 1,000 and launching of medical reimbursement scheme in favour of employees and pensioners, as medical expenses and prices of other essentialities of life are soaring sky high. The Federation Chief also hailed that group personal Accidental insurance policy has been extended with certain modifications for a period of three years and arrears accrued due to release of 5 per cent DA installment and DA itself has been paid to employees and pensioners immediately after the Federation highlighted employees’ grievances through media. Khan reiterated his demand for expediting the process of regularisation of daily-wagers working in various departments besides adhoc, contractual employees ReT teachers at the earliest.
