On Dec 3 the World Disability Day is celebrated across the globe with great enthusiasm. The persons with disabilities are not a burden to our society. All we need is to realise their potential and innate talents that almighty has blessed them with. The differently abled people need our love and attention. Our little help and kind gesture can make their lives better. No one is perfect in this world. We all have certain limitations and these limitations are a part and our lives. Despite these limitations imposed upon us by nature, we respect these limitations and perform our duties. The same is the case with differently able people. We need to respect their limitations and to recognise their special abilities that can make them an active member of society.
I remember the story of Hellen Keller who was paralysed but with the love and compassion of her mother she stood as a great writer. There are many examples where differently abled people have proved their worth but this all has become possible when the people around have respected their disabilities and give them opportunities to flower. It is therefore our duty to treat the specially abled people with love and affection and to ensure their contribution in nation building.
