Thirty eight out of 39 Aam Aadmi Party candidates failed to redeem their security deposit in Goa Assembly elections. Even in Punjab, the claims of Arvind Kejriwal fell flat on his face. It’s high time that Kejriwal focussed on Delhi alone and saved his face from constant embarrassment.
Irom Sharmila no longer the Iron Lady
Irom Sharmila, after 16 years of hunger strike, got only 90 votes while her rival, current Chief Minister and Congress candidate Okram Ibobi Singh garnered over 15,000 votes. Irom is certainly no longer the Iron Lady for her people. Her defeat can be attributed to a number of reasons including the way she ended her fast, her ‘inclination’ towards getting married and lack of a definite political path.
BJP in dire need of new faces
BJP, focussing only on UP elections, lost its ground in Goa. Although, eventually BJP’s Manohar Parrikar is set to be the CM of Goa, yet the BJP needs to gear up. If it was not for Manohar Parrikar’s image, BJP would have lost Goa. BJP is in dire need of new public leaders. People everywhere- J and K, UP, Uttarakhand and Goa, voted not for regional leaders, but PM Modi. Similar results are awaiting BJP here in J and K also as their leadership has failed the masses miserably.
