STATE TIMES NEWS LEH: PDP, Leh District President Tashi Gyalson and Councilor Mohd Nasir on Wednesday met Divisional Commissioner Ladakh, Saugat Biswas here and extended warm greetings to him on behalf of PDP Leh for assuming first-ever post of Divisional Commissioner at the newly created Ladakh Division. While interacting with the Divisional Commissioner, PDP President Tashi Gyalson requested him to make an arrangement to have an examination centre of J&K Bank Exam which is scheduled to be held next week. He said it is ironical that right after creating a new division for Ladakh, the J&K Bank has shifted its centre outside Ladakh and forcing prospective candidates to travel outside states it is very difficult for travelling and accommodations, especially for female candidates. PDP Leh also submitted a list of request to him to take up the matter with the Governor of State which included a High Court Circuit Bench at Ladakh for many poor litigator to avoid travelling to Jammu and Kashmir for Higher Courts of Law to appeal to seek justice. “A division status for Ladakh was created with an aim to deliver justice and equality and in the absence of High Court Circuit Bench at Ladakh the true essence of equality will not get fulfilled,” he said. Tashi Gyaltsan also demanded an anti-corruption cell to check on malpractices. PDP Leh Unit further requested Divisional Commissioner take up with SAC to implement Nubra Development Authority as sanctioned by previous government under the leadership of then Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti. The party further asserted that the Divisional Commissioner Office should remain in Leh and IG Office may be setup in Kargil and that all the directorates to be shared in equal number with having their subordinates office at place where director office do not exist. He rejected the idea of rotational system because this will overburden the public exchequer.
