KATHUA: Police on Monday cracked an attempt to murder case by arresting one lady doctor and her three accomplices involved in assault on husband of the aforesaid doctor on January 19, 2018 at Krishna Colony Kathua.
According to police, On January 19, 2018 one Jatinder Singh, son of Girdhari Lal, resident of Karanwada Basohli, at present Ward No. 4 Kathua lodged a written report with Police Station Kathua that at about 7 PM, he along with Naresh Kumar Sharma had gone to Nisha Ultrasound Centre Shaheedi Chowk and when were coming back on a two wheeler (Scooty) and reached Krishna Colony around six to seven unknown persons coming from opposite direction stopped them and started assaulting Naresh Kumar, pillion rider. They inflicted injuries to Naresh Kumar on head, arm and legs with Toka/Lathi. After hue and cry by complainant, the accused persons fled away from the spot on two motorcycles leaving behind the third bearing registration No. PB06 AC-9496. The injured was immediately shifted to the District Hospital Kathua for treatment.
On this report the case FIR No 32/2018 under Sections 307, 341, 147, 148 and 149 RPC and 4/25 Arms Act was registered and investigation was started.
The Police parties headed by S.S Sambyal Dy.SP Headquarters Kathua assisted by Inspector Anil Sharma SHO Kathua, SI Verinder Singh Incharge Police Post Hatli and SI Vikas Jasrotia Incharge Police Post Nagri succeeded in solving the case within hours of the time of incident and arrested four accused namely Joginder Kumar alias Happy, son of Manohar Lal, resident of Ward No 7 Kathua, Rohit Kumar, son of Bodh Raj, resident of Ward No 11 Nagri Kathua, Shammi Kumar, son of Sat Pal, resident of Janial Punjab and Nisha Sharma (lady doctor), wife of the victim.
During the investigation, it was revealed that the victim Naresh Sharma has estranged relations with her doctor wife for the past some months due to which she hatched a criminal conspiracy with one Joginder Kumar, who used to work in her clinic (part-time) and was closely known to her.
“The aforesaid doctor planned with Joginder to arrange some contract killers to eliminate her husband and deal was settled at Rs 1 lakh to complete the task. As per plan Joginder further asked his cousin Rohit Kumar, son of Bodh Raj of Nagri to arrange the persons to eliminate the victim and also provided the weapons of offence Tokas and Daraat to him. Joginder also facilitated Rohit by doing the recee of the area where victim usually took route for his home and also gave identification of the victim prior to the incident to execute the plan. On January 19, 2018 at about 7:00 PM Rohit Kumar along with five more accused assaulted and stabbed the victim Naresh Kumar Sharma with sharp edged weapons with common criminal object with the intention of killing him”, the probe also revealed. The aforementioned four accused have been arrested by the Kathua police and raids are being conducted to nab the remaining accused in the case.
The whole operation was completed under the supervision of Sanjay Parihar Additional SP Kathua and overall supervision of Mohd Suleman Choudhary SSP Kathua. The weapon of offence (Toka) has also been recovered.
