State Times News LEH: Ladakh Amchi Sabha headed by President, Dr Padma Gurmat expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for establishing a National Institute of Sowa Rigpa (NISR) in Leh. Briefing media persons here, Dr Gurmat said that it is a prestigious institute approved as an autonomous organisation under the Ministry of AYUSH, projected at a cost of Rs 47.25 cr. Dr Gurmat further said that the Institute would be of great significant in developing Traditional Buddhist Medicinal System not only in Ladakh but across the country and also in Asian countries, where it is being practiced. He added that the institute would facilitate education and research based development, related to Sowa Rigpa and shall prove to be a centre of excellence towards more scientific based studies of unique herbs and medicinal plants, grown in Ladakh.
