Srinagar: A 46-year-old labourer from Jharkhand was found dead in Kupwara District of north Kashmir, police said on Tuesday.
Markhus Murmu, a resident of Lakhanpur area of Jharkhand, was found dead near Ganie Mohalla in Kupwara town, 90 km from here, a police spokesman said.
He said that the deceased was working as a labourer with Beacon project of the Border Roads Organisation (BRO), which maintains important roads in the Valley.
“Investigation to ascertain the cause of his death has been started,” the spokesman added.
He said the body of the deceased was handed over to his relatives for last rites after completion of all legal formalities.
