State Times News RAJOURI: Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Rajouri under the aegis of Directorate of Extension, SKUAST-Jammu and under the directions of Dr. K. S. Risam, Vice Chancellor, SKUAST-Jammu organised workshop on “National Animal Disease Control Programme & Artificial Insemination Programme”. The programme started with Live Telecast of Launch of NADCP & AI Programme by Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India from Mathura (U P). A number of farmers along with Sarpanchs from different parts of the district participated in the workshop. The workshop was organized in collaboration with Department of Animal Husbandry and Department of Sheep Husbandry, Rajouri. Earlier, Dr. Arvind Kumar Ishar, Sr. Scientist & Head discussed about the various schemes being implemented through KVK. He informed that today’s workshop has been organized with the aim to aware the farmers about the importance of vaccination in preventing animal diseases and also about the importance of Artificial insemination in breed improvement and productivity enhancement. Dr. Parul Gupta, coordinator of this workshop discussed in detail about the various diseases which are responsible for not only reduction in productivity but even mortality of some animals. Dr Mohd Younis, Chief Animal Husbandry officer also briefed about symptoms of the diseases and their management. He made the farmers aware about the various Govt. sponsored schemes being implemented for the welfare of farmers. He assured all possible help from his department for improving productivity of animals. Dr. Sajjad, Dr. Aijaz, Dr. Shabnam and Dr. Mahapara from department of Animal Husbandry & Deptt. Of Sheep Husbandry vaccinated the animals and also did Artificial Insemination in some animals. The workshop ended with vote of thanks by Dr. Suraj Parkash, Scientist of KVK. KATHUA: Krishi Vigyan Kendra Kathua also organized live webcasting of launch of National Animal Disease Control Programme (NADCP) for FMD and Brucellosis and National Artificial Insemination Programme (NAIP) by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India on 11-09-2019. The live webcast of the event was organized by KVK, Kathua in which more than 70 farmers participated. Dr. D.D. Dogra Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Kathua, experts from Faculty of Veterinary Sciences SKUAST-Jammu viz; Dr. Dipanjali Konwar Assoc. Professor (LPM), Dr.Bishwajit Brahma, Assoc. Professor (LPM), Dr. Rajinder Bhardwaj Asstt. Professor (Veterinary Medicine), Dr. Sudhir Kumar, Asstt. Professor (VOG) participated in the programme along with other officers from the line departments. Dr. Berjesh Ajrawat, Scientist (Ag. Extension) KVK Kathua, Dr. Vishal Mahajan, Incharge Head, KVK Kathua, Dr. Vijay Kumar Sharma of KVK Kathua Dr. Ajay Kumar, Sh. Bharat Bhushan and Sahil contributed towards successful organization of the programme. REASI: On the occasion of launching of National Animal Disease Control Programme (NADCP) by H’ble Prime Minister Narinder Modi from Mathura; Deptt. of Animal Husbandry, Reasi held a Farmer’s Interaction cum Mini FMD vaccination programme in collaboration with KVK Reasi in the premises of KVK Reasi. A large of local farmers including Women Dairy farmers attended the programme who were shown the Launching ceremony Live from Mathura. While appreciating the efforts put in by the Central & State Govt. in Agriculture& Animal Husbandry sectors, Sukhdev, Sarpanch Kanjali Panchayat, exhorted fellow farmers to take actively part in the Doubling Farmer’s Income by 2020 programme of the Govt. Dr Banarsi Das, i/c Head KVK Reasi, Dr Ramesh Razdan, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Reasi were the resource persons.
