STATE TIMES NEWS REASI: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Reasi of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-J) organised farmers training programme on “Entrepreneurship Development in Horticultural Crops” on Tuesday at Tranjsha village in Thuroo block of Reasi district which was attended number of farmers of the village. The programme was organized under the guidance of Director Extension and Vice Chancellor of SKUAST-J, Dr. K S Risam. Dr. Banarsi Lal, Scientist& Head of KVK, Reasi said the farmers that production of temperate fruits is low in the region although there is an immense potential of temperate fruits crops. He suggested the farmers that by applying the new scientific horticultural technologies they can increase their fruit crops production. He stressed on the improved/hybrid varieties of temperate fruits so that the fruit crops production can be increased in the area. He also explained the technologies for value addition in fruit crops. Dr. Suja Nabi Qureshi, scientist discussed on Integrated Nutrient Management (INM) in horticultural crops and also highlighted high density orchards. He elaborated the production technologies of temperate fruits and explained the temperate fruits crops diseases and insects-pests and their remedial measures. The programme was assisted by Manohar Lal and Md.Iqbal.
