KATHUA: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Kathua under the aegis of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu and guidance of Dr. R.K Arora Associate Director Extension (KVKs) organised awareness programme during National Nutrition Week 2018 at Anganwadi Centre of village Chainpura, Kathua.
The programme was attended by more than 30 Anganwadi workers, helpers and farm women. Dr. Anamika Jamwal, Scientist KVK-Kathua narrated the activities carried out by KVK during National Nutrition Week, 2018 with theme ‘Go Further with Food’ and encouraged individuals to understand the benefits of healthy eating habits. She also also find ways to cut back on food waste She also discussed the importance of various food groups and balanced diet from which they can get good nutritious things. A healthy food should include the whole grains, fruits, vegetables, fat-free milk or milk products, meat, fish, nuts, seeds, etc.
S. Satbir Singh, Programme Assistant (Trainings) KVK-Kathua explained the main objective of celebrating National Nutrition Week. Programme ended with vote of thanks by Avtar Singh Panch of the village.
