LEH: Krishi Vigyan Kendra, SKUAST-K, Leh organised World Soil Day here at KVK Stakna.
On the occasion, Tsering Wangdus, Executive Councillor Agri and Rural Development, LAHDC Leh, was the Chief Guest. About 90 farmers from different villages of Igoo, Ranbirpur and Stakna were present.
Executive Councillor, in his address, expressed his concern about the importance of soil in agriculture.
Dr Phuntsog Tundup Scientist/SMS, Soil Science gave presentation on Soil Health Card scheme.
A video on Soil Sampling techniques and a Soil Health Card mobile application was also shown. During the programme, 45 soil health cards were distributed among the farmers. Vote of thanks was presented by Dr Nazir Ahmad Mir, SMS (Animal Science).
Dr Towseef Ahmad Wani, SMS (PHT), Dr Deldan Namgyal, In-charge Associate Director (R&E), Thinles Dawa, Sub Divisional Agriculture Officer and Manzoor AEO were also present.
