STATE TIMES NEWS UDHAMPUR: Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1 Udhampur celebrated birth anniversary of the founder of world Scouting movement Lord Baden Powell (World thinking Day) with great pomp and show. The festivities started with the welcome of Chief Guest Sumit Mehra, Principal K.V No.1 Udhampur, Vikramaditya and Minakshi Sharma who were adorned with scarves by Sanjay Kohli, I/C Scout and Guide, Raman Kumar and Shaveta. The function started with offering flowers to the Portrait of Lord Baden Powell and Sumit Mehra commenced the festivities. The air was filled with gaiety when all the Scouts and Guides took an oath to be honest, kind hearted and always ready to help. Sanjay Kohli also encouraged children to be always dedicated and helpful to other beings. The cultural programme was mesmerising and filled everyone with vigour. Various competitions like drawing, yells, storytelling were also conducted successfully. All the scout masters and guide captains of the Vidyalaya- Raman Kumar, Ravi kant, Lakhbir Singh, Rajiv Singh, Vinod Raina, Shaveta, Niharika, Sanju Singh, Rosy, Lalita, Alisha, Sakshi, Manjeet contributed in making the programme a grand success. The cubs bulbul of K.V. No.2 Udhampur also participated in the activities with great enthusiasm and zeal. All the students participated with dynamic energy. The programme was nicely conducted by Sanjay Kohli and active participation of Guide Captain and Flock Leader from K.V No. 2 Udhampur Kanchan and Ritu is highly appreciated. In the end, Sumit Mehra enlightened everyone with the principles of Lord Baden Powell and appreciated the readiness of students. Vote of thanks was given by Sanjay Kohli.
