Albeit, the Border Security Force (BSF) in J&K is upbeat right now with its phenomenal performance in the recent past especially in its fight against infiltration from across Pak border which in turn helped in containing terrorism but Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself praising the border guarding force on its 55th Raising Day has a special significance and the gesture shall go a long way in further boosting the morale of BSF family. The prime minister has lauded the Border Security Force (BSF) for diligently protecting the country’s border and helping in natural disasters and crisis situation. He said in a tweet that BSF personnel have always worked hard to serve Indian citizens. It was really a special day for the guardians of India’s frontiers and country’s first line of defence as PM Modi and HM Amit Shah have recognized their contribution straightaway without mixing words. The HM’s morale boosting statement averred, “From sand to snow, their dedication to serve the motherland in extreme weather conditions is truly inspirational. I salute their courage and sacrifice”. Besides, MoS Home Nityanand Rai also said that the anti-India forces wanting to create trouble in Kashmir valley, post abrogation of Article 370, have not been successful because of a strong security shield created by forces like the BSF. There is no doubt that BSF is standing like an impregnable wall against enemies of India. The border with Pakistan has become more critical after the abrogation of Article 370 and role of BSF in containing enemy line has also significantly intensified thus making the force to work with added zeal and utmost care. Expanding strategic capabilities and looking into the threat of drones coming from Pakistan with innovation has become priority of this force guarding over 6,386 Km long borders with Pakistan and Bangladesh. Though, men sitting at the helm have time and again asserted that BSF is fully prepared to tackle nefarious designs of Pakistan but with enemy always on toes to disturb peace, the border force cannot afford to take chances. Safe border is a prerequisite for ensuring development of a country and the BSF without any iota of doubt is doing herculean job in fighting enemy from across the border which is dying to disrupt peace and tranquility especially in J&K.
