SAMBA: MV International School (MVIS) organised two days Korean Cultural Exchange Programme in school which concluded on Wednesday.
Kim Kum-Pyoung, Director Korean Cultural Center, New Delhi, India was the Chief Guest who was accompanied by his wife Chun Hye Jin; Cultural PD Jaetak So and three artists Imran Khan, Sandeep and Somali Rawat.
The artists presented mesmerizing Korean Fairy Tales in front of the students. Korean Cultural Videos, Taekwondo and Gymnastics demonstration, guest lecturers, inauguration of Korean Book Shelf in School Library, songs and fusion of India-Korean dances as well as dances of J and K were some of the colourful presentations during the cultural extravaganza.
Director, Korean Cultural Center (KCC) shared the vision of Republic of South Korea and similarities in cultures of India and Korea.
He shared that Indian games like Gulli Danda, Geetay and Pushampa are also played in South Korea. He also threw light on similarities between Tamil and Korean languages, cultures and architectures of the two countries.
Overwhelmed by the sequence of quality presentations, Director KCC gave his consent to arrange students’ exchange programme, wherein the students of MV International School would visit South Korea for Cultural Exchange Programme.
MV International School would thus become the first school in Northern India to get such an outstanding international exposure.
Hira Lal Abrol, Chairman, MVIS; Savita Abrol, Vice Chairperson; Gourav Abrol and Aakriti Abrol, Directors MVIS and K.L Dogra Principal of the School were also present on the occasion.
Surinder Mahajan, Bharat Bhushan Gupta, Rajesh Sharma, Sarpanchs of District Samba Raghunandan Sharma, Raman Slathia, Varinder Singh, Ishar Singh, Mani Ram, Bhagwan Dass Sharma, Moni Sharma, Ram Paul, Raja Singh and Kamer Singh were specially invited for the show. Parents of the students attended the programme and learnt about the rich cultural relations of the two nations.
Gourav Abrol presented the vote of thanks and discussed future plans of the school.
