UDHAMPUR: As a sequel to Government of India’s initiative to promote sports across the country under Khelo India programme, the district administration on Thursday organised a block level sports and aptitude test for peace and development competition here at block Latti.
About 200 participants including boys and girls drawn from different educational institutions participated in the competition.
Speaking on the occasion, Manager Sports Council, Satish Chopra briefed about the competitions and informed that Khelo India is an initiative for motivating the young generation for participation in sports activities to channelize their talent in a positive direction. He said that a series of sports events has been organized in different blocks of the district besides this further training and coaching camps would be organized by the sports Council for selected players who participated in different competitions under Khelo India.
Among others, Block Development Officer, Latti Lal Chand Technical coaches from Sports Council J&K besides large number of prominent citizens, staff members and students of different schools were present on the occasion.
